Marjorie Louise Stafford, an only child, was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, January 8, 1925 to Ada Ross and Raymond Henderson (stepfather Nathan Ross). She attended public school and graduated from Walnut hills high School.
Marjorie accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. She united with Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Lockland, Ohio, under the pastorate of Rev. Otis Moss, Jr. While active, Marjorie participated in the Gospel Chorus, the Allegro choir and the Women's day Choir. She served faithfully until poor health would no longer permit her to come out to the house of worship.
Marjorie was united in Holy Matrimony to John R. (Pete) Bright on October 31, 1964. She was an active auxiliary member of John R. Fox Post No. 631 for many years.
Marjorie was employed by Cincinnati Milacron for more than 27 years, where she became one of the first African-American women to work as a Computer Programmer Analyst.
She leaves to mourn: her devoted husband, John (Pete) Bright; her stepdaughter, Viola Bright Holmes; two grandchildren, Alecia Rene Holmes and Edward Lee Holmes, III; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Betty Bright of Dayton, Ohio; a loving aunt, marie Crockrell; and a host of other relatives and friends.
