John Wesley Foster was born to Mr. and Mrs. Jerry and Mahalia Foster, August 1, 1887.

He was married to Miss Lizzie Sanders in 1909. To this union were born nine children.

He joined the Mt. Zion Baptist Church at an early age. In 1916 he moved to Woodstock, Alabama and was united with the Woodstock Baptist Church.

He passed this life November 19, 1969. He leaves to mourn his passing, a devoted wife, five sons, two daughters, twenty-three grand-children, forty-three great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
